Plans For The 4th?

So has anyone got plans for the 4th of July? Going to any celebrations, fireworks, cookouts etc.? I am planning on just doing a little grilling here at home....maybe go fishing early am! Other than that getting ready for 2 weeks down the Cape! How about you?:fishin:

hanging out with my father and lighting off fireworks. spending as much QT with the family before taking off..

hyefisherman2 07-02-2008 09:30 AM

bought a ton of fireworks up in NH

gonna light em up hehe

Clogston29 07-02-2008 09:39 AM

yard work, packing for vacation, and fishing all night (gotta check the town websites to make sure I avoid fire works - don't want to deal with those crowds)

RickBomba 07-02-2008 09:57 AM

Hanging out with Jess and relaxing. All of our friends will be away, so I guess it will be pretty mellow.
Gotta go to Miami on Sunday the 6th, though.
Be safe everybody,
Rick

Hoping to go yakking w/the wife and hook up with sis. and brother in law at the thimbles islands. Then to an all day cook out that a friend who owns a rest. throws every year (clams, lamb, shrimp, Filet, salmon, etc.). Finally, back home to watch the town's firework display.

Everyone - have fun and be safe.

I too will be grilling all weekend. I dont have AC in the kitchen and its too hot to cook inside. Will also consume copious amounts of bourbon with friends and the woman. Fishing those wee morning AM's.

Backbeach Jake 07-02-2008 11:25 AM

I'll sit on one of the Bayside beaches, as I have for the last 50 years, and watch the whole Cape celebrate with fireworks. Family, lifelong friends, a couple of cold ones...it's the best. then on the 6th Jenn and I celebrate our 34 Anniversary. Life's been good to me so far.:hee:

Raise my flag and I have 3 dozen cakes and tubes to set off . Just a few each night . maybe fish Sunday/Monday

riverrat2 07-02-2008 12:16 PM

Stay as far away from the ocean as possible. Too many idiots on the water. Be back on monday when the weekend warriors are back at work.

nightprowler 07-02-2008 12:18 PM

i'm getting married on the 5th...so ill have a busy weekend.
then its off to maine for a week of kayaking and fishing!

Clogston29 07-02-2008 12:21 PM

my condolences :hihi:

american spirit 07-02-2008 12:37 PM

hang out and lay low. maybe convince my dad and brother to sling some eels at night.

Slipknot 07-02-2008 12:38 PM

We have spent the last 4 years on the 4th down in wellfleet, this year we are going to my brother's house in E. Bridgewater to a huge cookout, he has a pool and a very large yard. I'll probably help him grille, then maybe play some wiffleball and swim. The rest of the weekend is a question still, maybe I can get some fishing in among the work around the house.

:cheers2: Have a good one and don't drink and drive.

daceman63 07-02-2008 12:44 PM

spend the day with the wife and daughters on the boat. With any luck pull in a striper or two.....the girls love to reel in fish. Maybe get home in time to light the grill (not a necessity) maybe try and catch a fireworks display somewhere.

i can't picture your brother handling an eel ball well with his temper :wall:
don't let him borrow a rod that you want back

RIJIMMY 07-02-2008 02:33 PM

i was hoping for fun in the sun, but the weather looks like crap. I will fish night and early am. Not sure what the family plans are due to the weather

Nice!! What's your poison? Im partial to Maker's and Bulleit for my 'regular' bourbon, and Woodford Reserve for something a little more special (and more $$$...)

Bronko 07-02-2008 03:10 PM

Heading to the cape house tomorrow afternoon with the wife and baby. Cookouts, Golf Tournament, fireworks and family fun Thurs-Sat.

Some late night eels slinging Saturday night into Sunday morning.:fishin:

american spirit 07-02-2008 03:15 PM

true. he might have to resort to chunking with an ugly stick and the old shimano baitrunner. :fishin:
