To cut or not to cut!

I need someone to talk me down off of this ledge or push me. I have two Lamiglas 136 2m rods, a honey and an S glass both one piece wrapped spinning (I built them in the late 70s). I drive a Honda Element and if I go to the places that it used to be safe to leave your sticks on the roof rack they will be gone. My question is which one to cut and ferrule??? I am thinking the S glass because I like the Honey rod better. (I told you I had problems) Where can I buy the size ferrule needed???

You need to figure where you want to make it 2 piece. Equal lentgh or unequal. I have a honey cut purposefully at 6" above foregrip. To me it saved the action and fit when needed. The furrles are available in just about all sizes. Use a mike and measure the area where you think you want it cut. Find a ferrule chart. You may need to go the a rodbuilder to obtain this. I would bring the rod to shop to size ferrule.I have a chart in a wholesale catolog w/sizes. The chrome /brass style is still available. Hope this helps.

I'd look for a locking rack for the car first..............:hs:
