car doors suck

i cracked the tip of my penn captiva combo in the truck door being stupid.
its just over 4 years old and at a paltry 100 bucks was worth every penny :)

suggestions on a two piece rod and reel for pitching plugs?

i would love a reel that I my grandkids could find in 20 years and after clearing out the dust still be about as good as the day i used it.
i got my first keeper on a reel that my Pop bought 40 years ago.
i would love my own progeny to feel the same connection.

Lesson 1: Teach Progeny not to close vehicle door on fishing rod!:hihi:

My first custom was an Allstar 1265-2 built by Saltheart. Sweet spot was 2 oz. At 10' 6" it can handle a wide range of fishing out of a vehicle; throws lighter lures decently, throws 1-2 oz for distance, good backbone, 2 piece. It was a very good recommendation from Mike for filling a wide array of needs.

get a penn 704 or 706 either z or regular, that's what I did, I am sure there is some mojo left in these old reels.

I bet that's a lesson to be learned ONLY once!
(I know it was for me when I had the fortune to decapitate a rod in that manner some time ago. Luckily I was able to have it refitted with another tip, although it was slightly larger than the original due to the amount of rod tip I lost in the process.)

Good luck in repairing/replacing you gear.
