we also had an awesome light show in central mass today

One yr on Nantucket we where beating the pajama's off em on GP when this lightning show came thru.It was a dark moon your could not see your hand in front of your face out there. All these big bolts comin thru.We where wating it out in my friends deisel p/u.He would not sut it off.It drove me crazy to the point where I said screw it and went fishing.11' rod in hand,I pounded em in the light show.
Another time in a bad storm in NJ.A popular jetty was occuopied primarily by club guys from 2 rival clubs during a tourney. It was real bad, lightning everywhere.Pouring a inch per hour. The jetty was littered with big fish as no one would leave.I was there for that also.If lightning hit that jetty 30 guys could have gotten fried along with 50 or so bass.
NIB is NOT a smart guy..:smash:

Mike.
I'm w/ you. not worth the risk.
was gear-up to go, but didnt pull the trigger...
tonight :D

Just to be clear, I'm not advocating fishing in lightning. Immediately after I caught and revived this fish I had to stop and hunker down in a cold rocky hole getting drenched for an hour and a half (while the tide and fish drained away) until the worst of it passed. Did manage a couple of more fish around 20 after that, but missed the best chance b/o the storm. Cloud cover on a full moon with a front approaching is a good time to fish.........provided you have the self discipline to stop before it is too late. Lot easier said than done if you are into decent fish.

By the time it let up where I wanted to fish the tide was half gone and so was the water... I started just as soon as it ended but it was a waste of time & effort.

BTW, thats a real nice fish George!

again?

dude that lightning has been a real pain lately. looks good, but it scares the hell out of me. i'm glad i slept, i was about to call and ask how you did.
