When surfcasting, being........

tall certainly has it's advantages. Thats all I wanted to say, carry on.

mrstriper 08-24-2008 07:17 AM

I was floating I tell ya...floating...

SD skinplug lives on!!!!!

Tagger 08-24-2008 07:20 AM

being shorter makes you feel like your part of the surf.. Hate to tell you but your really missing out .

doc 08-24-2008 07:32 AM

yeah, short makes one more stealth on the rocks...

BigFish 08-24-2008 08:10 AM

Tall means I have to take half as many steps on the rocks.....thus cutting the opportunity of turning an ankle in half!!:uhuh: Plus we can wade in deeper water...which I am guessing is what Flap is referring to?! Biggest disadvantage to being tall is when you catch a big fish.....they all look small in the pictures! There is your biggest advantage right there for being short......guys like Tagger can make a schoolie look like it weighs 40 pounds!!:bgi: Just ribbin' you Ed!

mrstriper 08-24-2008 08:41 AM

couldn't keep up with Flap:fury:...I was floatin' I tell ya...floatin'

Joe 08-24-2008 08:42 AM

Casting momentum - the biggest advantage, like a tall pitcher. A ten foot pole cast by a tall person is launching from way up.

TianaBeachDude 08-24-2008 08:55 AM

I'M Short, and Proud of it:cheers2:

BigFish 08-24-2008 08:57 AM

TBD....could you speak up? I barely heard you up here!:jester: Its like Horton Hears a Who!!

hyefisherman2 08-24-2008 09:19 AM

being short makes your fish look MUCH bigger!

NIB 08-24-2008 09:20 AM

Dork..:rotf2:

emgred 08-24-2008 02:21 PM

ARE YOU PICKING ON VERTICALLY CHALLENGED PEOPLE!!!:whackin:

That is just plain rude.!!!!

PS The fish in my pic IS big!!!!

cf1128 08-24-2008 03:41 PM

Flap can cast one helluva long ways. I can, of course, outcast him.........only not with the line attached.

hardbait 08-24-2008 07:49 PM

being short you can hide easier in those secret spots. being tall you stand out like a flag pole.

Raven 08-24-2008 08:01 PM

go pick oranges

you won't need the ladder

:jump:

afterhours 08-24-2008 08:18 PM

i can cast with the big boys- i just can't wade as deep till now -wetsuit :hee:

NIB 08-24-2008 08:22 PM

One thing I hate about "M" is when some 6'6" d-bag in a wetsuit pushes the line out another ten feet..:fury:

Slipknot 08-24-2008 08:23 PM

I wear a set of stainless steel plasterer's stilts when I fish with flap

.................you GIANTS have onehelluvalot farther to FALL.

not that i would wish anything like that on you and Flap,,,,,,,,,,,,
prolly hurts more the farther you fall :devil2: :devil2:

and another disadvantage would be that you guys are expected
to be able to reach farther and deeeeper; so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

*there MUST be a HUGE Performance Anxiety Factor
that is attached to such God given loftinesses.* that is all,

carry awwwwwwn!

The needle I was using this week that outperformed all the others was only 5 inches long, yet the bass wanted it more than the others.

Hmmm... what a metaphor!
