Hannah is coming, you stayin' in?

Any of you guys in slips hauling out? I can see on Channel 5 that the panic is on around New England, hauling boats, etc. I'm staying put, unless things get really bad really fast.

RIROCKHOUND 09-04-2008 05:16 PM

Pulling the research vessel tomorrow because
a. our dock space was only paid through this week
b. she happens to be docked 10min by trailer from her storage spot
otherwise I would have doubled lines and been fine.

Hanging on the mooring.

big jay 09-04-2008 08:21 PM

Just doubling up the lines.

I don't think Hanna will be the problem, it's those other two we need to keep an eye on.

I agree...looks like Hanna is really fast moving and not packing much of a punch. I'm heading out today for bass, and will double up on some lines when I get back. Up in the north shore, the winds aren't expected to get much over 30kts (that is, if you want to believe NOAA)

Ike on the other hand...

saltyric 09-05-2008 06:19 AM

I plan on fishing in the morning, then doubling up the lines!!!!!!! Good luck to all....very nerve racking.

likwid 09-05-2008 07:15 AM

waste of time pulling.
we're not even gonna get a TS.

Van 09-05-2008 07:17 AM

Another typical media panic....

Wind predictions are less than 15 mph.
I won't even go down to the slip except to go fishing for a while.

InTheHole 09-05-2008 07:18 AM

I am staying in, going down tonite to double up on the lines and stow anything that could fly around.

Where you were is one of the best places in the state to ride out a 'caine. many of the commercial boats from Gailee and the C.G. come up there to ride out a direct hit. I'm just going to double the lines tomorrow morning, probably don't even need to do that.

capecodkid 09-05-2008 03:13 PM

One of the boats could be hitting the dock with the winds so we are going to throw that one on the mooring, the other boat will be fine, its tied/bumpered in pretty good.

sokinwet 09-05-2008 03:19 PM

Low pressure..fish will be on...I'll be fishing as long as the bildge pump keeps working.

Dockage ran out.
Wasnt working till end of the week next week at least.

piemma 09-06-2008 10:48 AM

I was out as of Tuesday anyway, for Fishaholic18 to do some work. I could not see any reason to splash till after Hanna departs.

I fished the NWC this morning, then ended up hauling out, but only because I will be away the next couple of weekends......(by the way, the NWC was hot....took a 57" bft home, broke off a second one)

ProfessorM 09-06-2008 06:22 PM

good job. It poured off and on here at my house most of the day but not much wind.
