|
Good god, have you seen the price of micro brew overt he past few years???
-spence |
If the price of brew ever gets to where the masses sober up, well this is a dangerous game they play....
|

Time to homebrew again.
I have capacity to do 3 kegs a month. |
I'm with you Clogston. It might be time to go to CVS and buy some of those stinky magic markers to huff.
Doesn't Trader Joes sell some pretty decent wine under their name for just a few dollars a bottle? Gittyup! ------ This anticipated price increase really stresses me out. It's going to drive me to drink! |
two-buck chuck...$2.99 a bottle...Its not Your Daddy's MD 20/20.
actually tastes decent |
Speaking of MD 20/20 - Do you guys remember Cisco? That stuff used to really mess you up. I think it was discontinued because of that.

The Top 10 Great Cheap Buzzes of Yesteryear (in no particular order)
MD 20/20 (What other wine comes in a Booze Pint Bottle) Bali Hai (wine....99 cents a bottle...nuff said) Boones Farm Strawberry Hill (The Original Wine Cooler) Red, White, and Blue (Old Milwaukee if you had a little extra Change) Miller Keg (Ahh the Days of the $2 all you can drink Kegger) Haffenraffer (Seriously 3 of these would put you on you Ass) Any Booze with a Kappy's or S.S. Pierce label (Anything goes good with coke) Bacardi 151 (C'mon...anybody that says this stuff tastes good is full o' crap) Leroux Peppermint Schnaaps (Yeah, that was the intelligent choice to sneak past your parents....smell like you've been doing shots of scope) Everclear (What other booze lets you get Chitty beyond all belief and lets you Fire Bomb your principals car with the rest of the Bottle) and I wonder how many parents thought their Tolerance to alcohol was going up....because the rum/vodka in their Liqour cabinet was watered down to 25 proof |

We did Boones on Monday, beer ball on Tues., Southern Comfort (or rum for some of the guys) on wed., Vodka on Thursday (usually Kappy's because we were on the north shore and had little money), Keg on Friday. On special occasions like Toga parties, we'd run to NH and pick up some grain alcohol like the Everclear and mix it with fruit punch and sherbert in a plastic trash can with an oar. The girls would drink it like water. Looking back, I don't know how any of us graduated. |
Nebe rode the crazy horse to jager-town many a night in college :yak:
|
One of the worst nights ever was Boones Farm Strawberry w/ Smirnoff Blue Chasers.........Talk about a technicolor yawn :yak:
|
I used to buy a case of Schlitz in college for 7 bucks. It's funny to look back at what we used to drink because it was cheap.
|
Red, White and Blue.....$3.96 a case
used to drink Quick-Stop beer in California for the same price...comparable to 7-11 having its own brand. |
ice house 30s for 10 bucks each in college.
when i was a feshman with an id, we'd drive up to NH and buy as many as they'd let us, i think it was 4 each. bring them back to school and sell 2 of them for $30 bucks each and drink the other 2. did that almost every weekend. |
Koch's GA pounders, I could get a case at Spirit Haus in Amherst for $6.66. They used to call it the "number of the beast sale."
I'd get 5 cases every Thursday when I'd get my check and it would last me and the boys for the week. UUGGH, gross. But, I could buy beer for the week for $35. Later, Rick |
Thunderbird wine by the gallon, $2.99.
Genessee $2.99 by the case. |
