Through wire, how do I do it?
When I make a plug I want to use a through wire for connecting the hook loops. How do i do this? Just act like you were explaining it to a child, this way I have a chance of understanding, LOL. I mean what type of wire, connectors, etc.
Thanks guys. |
from searching around the message boards and asking alot of guys, here is how i do it.
find the center if the wood. this can be done on square stock by drawing a line from each corner to the opposite corner. the intersection is the center. on a round dowel, as i was told, you can get a center finder for like $4 at woodworker's warehouse. then, i use a drill press and drill in on each end at the center as far as the drill press will go. after i get a pile done up, i use a hand drill with a long bit and connect the two. it works about 95% of the time for me. i think most guys use 1/16" SS wire. do a search for more answers. |
boar a hole through wood, put wire through, i use steel wire around 18 gauge, i think its stainless steel.at each end of the plug i make loops by wrapping the wire around its self. i wrap about 6 times or less, i really dont know how many i really do. connectors? huh?
