nicks on spools?
 
can small nicks be sanded out. this is on a graghite spool.

dennis, replace the spool if you can. if the nicks are small forget-a-bout-it.:D

Sure, I'd use 600 grit paper on the finish.

I use 600 paper, even on aluminum spools when they get corrosion pits.
It should be fine.

Or fill it woth epoxy then sand it smooth.
