popped the wooden cherry

went out last night for the first time in a couple of weeks due to moving and family issues. bought a tattoo's danny, my first wood plug, and wanted to see what all the ranting and raving is all about. caught a few good blues to about 10 pounds, and proceded to scratch the paint off of my new bait. i gotta say though, im kinda hooked, no pun intended. seeing them smash the danny on top reminded me of my freshwater days swimming rapalas for smallmouths. good times and there may be another convert here on the board

If you had eels ,you may be on the way to the taxidermist.

LOL. Poor George. He gets a convert and bam you are dangling the eel in front of the gentleman's will. I will say that plugs out fished eels today for me.

ah yes...this story reminds of my first day of catchin bass on danny plugs. What a day that was, it was December 19th if you can believe it on Western Long Island. My friend crushed numerous big fish on pencils the day before and calls me to make the hour and half drive. Thank God I did because the herring came in close and I fell in love with Danny plugs that day! Now I make my own!

Congrats on a good day fishing!

Rich Osthoff said it best or was it Kenny Abrams. "I'm not just trying to catch fish, I'm trying to catch fish in a compelling manor.

The five stages of fishing.
1) Catch all kill all, anyway possible.
2) Catch the biggest possible, and kill them all.
3) Only fish for trophies any way possible.
4) Catch and release.
And finally when old and "wise".
5) Do everything possible to make it as hard as possible to catch anything on the most obscure, expensive lures on the planet and thank God for every tug!
