S-B Rhody Leg Get Together, Cook Out, and Fish

October 18, Rhode Island, S-B Cookout and Fish

Looking for suggestions on where to meet?

:hee:

Great time to fish!

eelskimmer 10-07-2008 02:05 PM

Meeting spot

Since no one has a suggestion, here is my 2c. Charlestown Breachway parking lot. Sat. PM cookout will certainly attract
lots of surfrats who may not be on S-B. Are there any surfrats
who are not on S-B??? See youse on the beach.

The new SWE might not be bad, that back lot is kinda spacious.

But in the end that would be Pete's call.

Yeah that would be a nice place to do it. Plenty of space and gear there ( there's even snakes in the basement!)and everything's near the water on Aquidnick Island.:humpty:

On the 18th.... I think I will Finally be able to make an event,,,,,,:happy::happy:

Redsoxticket 10-07-2008 07:46 PM

I'd would like to see it at a place that is within 200 ft+- of the water. Being stuck behind a building doesn't suit me, so close but so far.
Pt. Judith, Camp Cronin, CRMC lot at East Shore Rd., Cbway are examples.

Pete F. 10-07-2008 08:36 PM

Hmmm, I think I see another RI trip coming

Strider 10-08-2008 06:53 AM

What about the Burlingame Picnic area off of RT1 in Charlestown?

bassballer 10-08-2008 06:58 AM

fort getty in jamestown?

JohnR 10-08-2008 07:27 AM

I'm thinking more SoCo so those that are Beach Capable can beach :tooth:

Charlestown Breachway?

linesider69 10-08-2008 06:27 PM

Check with timber to see if we could do it at weekapaug bait and tackle . Cant get much closer to water than that.

BassDawg 10-08-2008 07:35 PM

I'm not doing it at Weekapaug B&T and I have good reasons :whackin: not to do it there - back in the old days we did though.

How about the East Beach lot at the start of the Sand Trail ? Could be good fishing just over the dune :bl:

striperman36 10-14-2008 06:51 AM

Is there a ramp near by?

redcrbbr 10-14-2008 08:55 AM

John isn't that the weekend of the MS club challenge?

Only suggestion is some place with a windbreak

BasicPatrick 10-14-2008 09:16 AM

Oh chit....that is this upcoming Saturday....damn...I might be able to make it!!!!!

I like the Ctown Breachway idea better than the east beach parking lot because it is easier to get to for those not familiar with the area.

John...If Springtides is not coming I will volunteer to make the secret recipe...Narraganset (via Hyannis) special "African Chicken Peanut Bean Soup".....

Define "nearby" - there are a few ramps at the breachways. C-Town probably being easiest and about 10 miles away by vehicle and 4miles away by bird

I cannot get down on the 18th. Unfortunately, i have a major system cutover.
The 19th I'll be coming down there, if I don't have yet another calamity.

MakoMike 10-14-2008 10:01 AM

Would have loved to meet up with you guys, but next weekend I have to be in CT for most of the weekend. :(

This might work - have our cook out during the MS Surf Club Challenge? Going to be a COOOL couple days this weekend anyway.

eelskimmer 10-15-2008 10:31 AM

Get together spot

Charlestown Brwy might be best spot for all?
