1st canyon trip/ overniter to boot

My buddy I tuna fish with has a friend who goes out of VA just over Maryland line. We got the invite down. We hit the canyons Fri and Sat and had a great trip.

Total tally was 4 yellowfin, 2 marlin, 1 wahoo, 1 swordfish, 1 mako, 4 mahi.

Killer 1st trip!

That sounds like a perfect offshore trip... every good type of meat to eat from the offshore species other than maybe Albacore.

To make it absolutely perfect, though, you'd have to hit up some inshore fishing for Cobia on your way back.

:drool:

Ronnie;
You'd be surprised how many boats in that size class we see in the Canyons up here...

I feel a lot better with two diesels... but thats just me :fishslap:

Great pics guys. Congrats on a great trip!

Thanks Guys. Yeah Ronnie it was a 28 Parker, nice dance floor. I can't remember how big your's was. We saw a couple of little boats out there the 2nd day when it FAC, they were probably 23 ft!

Nice fish. Great photos

Great trip. Ronnie a lot of 23' boats are now making the run, fishing, and running home in the same day. I think it is a waste of time to not stay overnight but..............

The night chunk bite can be legendary and the swordie bite is at night. False dawn troll for the big eye. I would rather stay overnight for these reasons.

Very nice.

Guy i work with hits that area all the time in his 25 proline.

No problem. You don't need a big boat just big _ _ lls,,, and a good captain who knows what hes doing!!!!
