saw a first

Saw a first this morning on the canal. A gentleman with 5 rods and reels on a bike which is a first but the more amazing thing was all 5 were what looked to be brand new Van Staal's on 5 separate rods. I am surprised he didn't have a body guard with him.

Slingah 10-18-2008 04:50 PM

was it redlite???? :laughs::hf1::laughs:

BatesBCheatin 10-18-2008 04:59 PM

I don't even like to carry more than 2 rods...or find it necessary. I think that guy needs attention... and I'm guessing that they didn't even get damp. ;)

Got to wonder if he drags all 5 down to the water's edge with him or leaves them on his bike if he spots breaking fish? Nice problem to have I guess.

hi mikey :D......I know you dont fish them vs's there...it was a joke...:gu:

ProfessorM 10-18-2008 05:37 PM

He took them all down one at a time as his bike leaned against one of the benches along the ditch and lined them up against a tree near him. He couldn't put them all on the bike at once because it would have tipped over.
On another note I agree with Mike it is getting too cold. I hate the cold

Slingah 10-18-2008 05:47 PM

too cold for me too...if it isnt fun..it isnt worth it in my book..
lit the woodstove for the first time tonight......toasty :uhuh:

ilovetwofish 10-18-2008 05:58 PM

Did he have a for sale sign on his bike!Or maybe was anybody missisng any vs?

tynan19 10-18-2008 07:14 PM

Yep Slingah, the stove is on but the game is not.

angler229 10-18-2008 07:31 PM

kenyee 10-18-2008 10:52 PM

Went last week and saw a guy using a Segway for a canal cruiser?!? That was just weird...it had rod mounts and lure basket, etc...

The Dad Fisherman 10-18-2008 11:39 PM

Saw Finaddict catch 2 lobsters fishing for Stripers.....on eels. That was strange

Flaptail 10-19-2008 06:34 AM

All glitz no substance.

Adam_777 10-19-2008 07:43 AM

I use my vs to snag pogeys then lay it on a rock to liveline the pogeys with another rod and reel.It works for me.I can't cast far enough yet to reach the pogeys with my conventional reel and a snag hook.I may make a double snagger for more weight next trip out so I only need 1 rod and reel.So that would mean VS collecting dust....again.Plugging has sucked for me this year so I went the way of conventionals for bait.
On a side note the guy with the 5 or 6 VS's must have a serious addiction and if he was guided by the right people may turn out to be a good guy after all.Tons of money to blow and no idea what to do next.....If you helped the guy out maybe he would give you one.I wouldn't have that many on me at once it's like asking for trouble.Like walking around with your wallet open showing everyone.

nklinesider 10-19-2008 07:53 AM

was probably an undercover cop trying to catch some of those hoodlums stealing you gear up there in the canal

Now THAT is way cool.

Duke41 10-19-2008 01:03 PM

that was me I am very rich, I left the rods at the canal because after I tried it for a few hours I decided fishing is boring. If you find them you can keep them.

Swimmer 10-20-2008 09:07 AM
