Hi Guys.No time like the present for a first post !
We are very fortunate to have a nesting pair of falcons here at the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Every spring we assist the DEP with tagging the chicks. These are amazing creatures and we are happy to provide a nest for them. We also provide a lot of pigeons but unfortunately they can't eat enough of those !

that's awesome! how do you get that close without them spooking and flying off?

Actually the female was very aggressive/protective this year. We couldn't keep her away and she had to be restrained while the tagging was done. They will usually sit on a nearby beam and squawk like crazy. Luckily for us the nest is right under the bridge deck so there is not much room for them to manuever. Out in the open we can and have been attacked.

Thanksgiving in Cape May Point NJ can be amazing.
I have seen thousands of hawks spiraling around as the air warms to glide off across Delaware Bay.
Truly one of the world's great wonders.

Small birds and animals beware.
