I use to chase those waves in R.I. fall, winter, and spring. Too bad there wasn't any big girls in those curls Don.

nice PIX, Don
:btu: :btu:

yup, SAT into SUNam was HUGE!!

6-9' steady with sum sets at 12'.
and the wind was so strong the water almost
couldn't get OUT at Quonny. blowing a steady 40
with gusts up to 60mph,,,,,,,,,,,the rain was coming
down at a 45. good thing that it wasn't COLD!!!

didn't have the digital last w/e, no matter,
i also found :bl: :bl: NO FEESH IN RI :bl: :bl:

It was huge over here too - Ruggles Avenue and Tuckerman's Reef were a solid 8' with offshores and the outer reef at Ruggles was probably 10-12. That place has almost no limit on the size of swell it can handle.

Kevin from Edwards told me he went out for blackfish yesterday morning and it was 12-15' out on Haycock Ledge :hs:

That's a little too lumpy for me and where I draw the line.

The swell hadn't diminished very much as of last night either - full of silt, seaweed and that #$##*&# fine mung  - couldn't fish the spots I'd planned so I just packed it in.

Gonna go check them again in a little while for a short session maybe before work - the end here in Newport is near - gonna have to start that trek across the bridge after this one passes, I'm afraid.

Time to pack up the fish-wagon :ss:

went out last night from the soco beaches to gansett and the surf was bbbiiiigggg. Ended up standing in a parking lot bullsheeeting for about an hour and headed home. Big heave and no action.

Those are some nice shots. It looks like I won't be shooting anything sub-surface for a few days...Errrrrr, fall diving!

ilovetwofish 10-28-2008 01:55 PM

I tried from Westerly to Gansett today near impossible no fish.

Blow'n like snot here too. Put a extra line or two on the boat this afternoon. Any chance we get a couple more "bluebird" boating days in before winter? I only want to get out 2 or 3 more times before I call it a year... One chumming trip to empty the bait freezer and 2 more toggin days...that is all I ask.

Clammer 10-28-2008 06:37 PM

 C/A

I was the only boat out for a couple of hours /on the reef / then a oversized came out & went east .

later a 26ft came out tried inside R2 / then a little further east & then back inside ;;

First light is the best! Sunrise at the ocean, fish or no fish you still win.
