Need chuck for rotisserie dryer

Looking for suggestions for making a chuck to hold rod butt while drying. Rotisserie motor takes 1/2" square stock. Any ideas or pics?

Hi Ross,
I answred this on the other rod building board where you posted it

I use a rotisserie, and for a cheap and low-tech solution I just used the four-pronged rotisserie fork that it came with. Cut a square of corrugated cardboard bigger than the square of the prongs, and punch it onto the fork. Use a razor knife to cut an "X" in the carboard slighly larger than the butt diameter of the rod. Push the rod butt through the X. The friction of the carboard will hold the butt. Make sure the X is in the middle of the prong spacing. Voila, swamp yankee rod dryer :tooth:

Thanks Mike. I saw that. Still messing with the elastic bands.... Also picked up a couple PVC pieces in the plumbing aisle at Homies that I might try to thread three thumb screws into to hold the butt.

Toonoc, I like the swamp yankee thinking. But I only have the motor, no prongs.
