Thanksgiving Parade....

Remember when you were a kid and watched the parade on tv? William Conrad of "Cannon" fame hosted the show with his big leather chair and a warm fire going in the background and all you watched was the parade?? I hate all this song and dance stuff......just show me the dang parade!! Remember the "Underdog" balloon?? Do they still have Snoopy??

BigFish 11-27-2008 10:40 AM

All the lip-sync is aggravating! Why bother?? I know...its tied to the almighty buck!

Nebe 11-27-2008 10:51 AM

times change bigfish.. I suggest turning off the TV and listen to some good music. :D

BigFish 11-27-2008 10:52 AM

I enjoy the parade......can do without the campy window dressing.

fishbones 11-27-2008 10:55 AM

Snoopy is still there with the rest of the Peanuts. I'm not sure about Woody Woodpecker though. I think he was punctured by Kramer from Seinfeld.

Larry, I think I just saw Darius Rucker from Hootie & the Blowfish on a float in the parade. Does that mean he's not a "has been" anymore?

Hey Larry, I grew up in Manhattan, and was privledged to see the parade first hand. It was a BLAST. There were so many ballons over the years. I remember Popeye the best.

BigFish 11-27-2008 12:41 PM

Did you see Andy Williams??? Talk about pathetic!! Lip syncing "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"??? That track is about 60 years old.......sure was bad!

tattoobob 11-27-2008 01:18 PM

No parade for me but I will be listening to Alice's Restaurant

BigFish 11-27-2008 02:45 PM

I heard the nine and the noon.....I will eat desert while listening to the four!:kewl:

Thank you Joe was going to mention that .. always a joy to see those leggy dames..

Everyone lip-syncing to their latest (or only hit - hint/Rick Astley) or following every float with " and their new movie will be out this...." was pathetic. The only this as pathetic, if not more, was watching the Lions game.

On the plus side, we have plenty of leftovers to tide me over the weekend.

Ocean Spray had a float in Macy's parade

My brother-in-law said it cost about $1,000,000.00. He said the company thought it was long overdue though.

I look at Mylie Cyrus and think of the r-rated pictures she did with her father.
