sign of the times?

I needed to get a couple of things I forgot for dinner today, so I go down to the supermarket to find it closed. Go to the other two and find them both closed as well. ? ???

Last year they were all open until atleast noon on turkey day. This year not a one. My thoughts are it is because they don't want to pay time and a half. maybe I am wrong......

Maybe they just wanted to give the employees a day off to spend with their famalies...

Now Mac don't start getting all disgruntled like BF Larry. They could be closed because the holidays is all about spending time with your family and or loved ones. Plus other than the small items people often forget, there is probably no demand to staff an entire store. Most of the items people forget can often be picked up at the small convenience stores. Lastly, Thanksgiving begins the rush to the Holiday shopping season. So today is the last day of rest for most of those who work retail.

Happy Thanksgiving Dave to you and your family.

Me?? I could care less they were closed! Hell I miss the days prior to the blue laws when all stores were closed Sundays and Holidays! Bring those back I say!!:btu:

Could be. Just seems funny that they were open the last 9 Thanksgivings I've been back here.

Oh well. We made due and dinner was fine. Going to need to walk an extra mile tomorrow. :wiggle:

Didn't get to have pumpkin pie. Then again I really didn't need it anyways:tooth:

didn't a single store open anywhere today, from Mansfield to Palmer,
maybe a conv. store and the pike service stations but nothing else.

My main problem was the turkey wasn't totally thawed this morning.:1poke: So I was on someones (wife) chit list. Dishes are done, everything is put away so now its time for a Sam Adams.

Hope everyone had a great Turkey day.:buds:

I forgot the package from Columbia:smokin: that went with it.Ahhhh the 70's.
