Little Feat
One fantastic bunch of musicians. You Tube has a ton of music from this liveshow in 76. Great quality stuff.

AMEN
Saw them several times in my youth before they broke up after Lowell George's death in 79. Glad they reunited. My family gave me tix to the Feat show in Newport a couple of years ago, still one of the best live shows out there. Love the socket for a slide. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkZsSydzQjM |
I got to see Little Feat at The Orpheum in Beantown when Lowell George was still alive - of all the bands I've seen live it was probably the most impressive performance - both as a group and individually as musicians. Man, they were tight as a crab's ass, too - even then it was obvious they didn't start playing together yesterday.
Speaking of yesterday, I wanna say that's about the time of the Dixie Chicken release, maybe earlier. Richie Hayward - the drummer - was unbelievable, he brutalized the drumset and Lowell George was incredible - what a sad loss to suicide. You're all gonna get tired of me playing remember when - but it's nice to still be able to remember when...:laughs: |

I like stories:uhuh:.
I unfortunately only saw them at the Melody Tent about a decade ago but followed them from afar. They are a lot more advanced that your average band for sure. I enjoyed finding him on a few Zappa albums too. I think my 2 favorite tunes are Spanish Moon and Juliette, awesome tune. |

Robert Palmer did a cover of it when he first started getting recognition here which was actually pretty good - middle '70's or so... Marc Broussard also did a recent cover - they play it on WMVY a lot - Dang ya, Paul - now I'm gonna be up late going thru my CD re-issues :whackin: |
I started listening to them in 78
great band I saw them at Great woods with my wife in 90 I think waiting for columbus is an awesome album |

It sounds like they were, and still are a great band after Lowell George died... |

Great to read about the Feat. I still miss Lowell. And I am thrilled to see someone give props to Richie Hayward - the most underrated drummer in the business. He is not a speed merchant (wasn't the style of the band's music) , but he kept that funky beat like no one else.

2 degrees in Bebop, a PhD in swing, he's the master of rhythm, he's the rock and roll king.
Great band:agree: |

:btu:Cast and styles have evolved some over the years but the core's still got it and they're still puttin' a$$e$ in the seats:claps:
