Avery is a funny bastard and a good hockey player. I couldnt believe what he said. I guess that girl is to hockey what shannon dorety is to baseball pitchers.

i was amazed he said that but i think it was because he was dumped and revenge is sweet.

avery is a turd on the ice...but i thought what he said was funny- another example of the dreaded PC, which i think sux.

do they have a player's union in the NHL? i can't believe that he was suspended for that. is it an insensitive comment? yes. but its common to the point of being slang. the team and league just don't like the guy (can't blame them, he is a #^&#^&#^&#^&) and were waiting for the opportunity to get him for something. the team is the biggest hypocrite. they knew who and what he was but signed him anyway thinking that they would be a quality team and that having an instigator would help. now they suck and want to take the moral high ground and say they don't want guys like that on their team, what a joke.

she is hot though - one of my favorite celebrities. hell, i sat through the entire movie, "house of wax" just because she was in it and wearing a tight white t-shirt - talk about a bad movie though. and as far as "sloppy seconds" - every body is somebody's sloppy seconds.

I agree with Clogston. Guys do much worse stuff on the ice and get less. Now you have to watch what you say because you wouldn't want a grown man's feelings to get hurt.

Last year Ryan O’Byrne and Thomas Kostopoulos of the Canadiens were arrested for stealing a womans purse and resisting arrest, respectively at a nightclub. Neither one was punished by the team or suspended by the league.

Yet this lunkhead gets 6 games for making a wisecrack about an ex-girlfriend who's a public figure anyways?

Avery is just a loud mouthed dirtbag. Glad he got suspended for 6 games. Too bad Bettman didn't wait a few days, so Avery would of had to face Phaneuf on the ice and gotten his butt kicked :fight:.

Cant wait to see em play the flames. A good game without the avery drama, this will be even better. THose two would be a good fight. I think id give the edge to Avery in the fisticuffs department, but i reckon Phaneuf is going to be pumped up.

Gary Bettman has almost singlehandedly destroyed the NHL :doh:

You have to go some to out-do Bud Selig as a bad commissioner, but Bettman's there.

Looks like they've kicked him off the team now......That a little excessive if you ask me. I guess they've been wanting an excuse to chitcan him and this one works
