Windows Vista

I wonder how many of my programs that I have on the old computor are not going to be compatible with the new HP and the Vista program. The first one I tried to installed, AOL, doesn't work. Christine from Mumbai is sending me a compatible AOL disk. A kodak program I use with the camera I have is showing signs that it is not going to work either. Maybe there ar updates and downloads I can locate.

I fear the commercial grade Adobe Photoshop and a few others will not work also.

Swimmer....

Same problems here! I found quite a few of the programs I had were not playing nice with Vista. I was looking into going back to XP but it looked dangerous

My old Photoshop 6 works with Vista

AOL is evil, it is the Bayliner of the Internet, gets more people into boating (internet) and the worst product doing it

Your Kodak software can likely be upgraded from their site if not too old...

you can have multiple operating systems on one computer if the hard drive is big enough but the program that allows you to open either one ain't cheap.

I think I can switch Scott from one system to another on this computor, but I am not going to get into that. I have had it with reformatting hard drives then loading another entirely different OS onto it. I blew out my Millenium and loaded XP pro on the Gateway I just jettisoned and some functions never did work that should have. I will update the Kodak program at Kodak.com I hope. I like the Adobe PS 5.5. I hope it works with Vista. I am leary of pushing an older program onto a much newer hard drive though. My niece will like the old Gateway though since she doesn't have a PC yet.

The 1st link is a how-to and costs nothing but is somewhat complicated.

The second is for Vistaboot Pro.Costs a whole $8.95 and is much easier than the above option.

But like JohnR said you can upgrade older programs to work with Vista.
