photo editor software
Looking to see what everyone thinks is a very user friendly, versatile photo editor software? I am looking to load one on the laptop and looking for suggestions.
|
gimp
|
Gimp is probably the most powerfull freeware image tool out there. I would'd call it complicated, but it's not designed for ease of use. More of an Adobe Photoshop alternative.

so your choice would be?
I find it extremely usable, Ive been using it for several years now. Always learning something new |
download Picasa for the simple stuff. Use Gimp for the more complicated stuff.
If you're doing this professionally, get Photoshop so you can use all the Actions/macros you can get for it... |
Bah. Gimp Rocks and it's open source
|
Gimp can't read/use Photoshop actions. There has been an attempt at it, but no luck yet.
Like I said...only matters if you're doing this professionally (wedding photog, etc.)... |

I'm a fan of paint.net
|
paint.net is another real easy one.

Good question to ask. I don't think my current Photoshop 5.5 will work with my new HP because it is Vista loaded. I was wondering if there is anything out there better than the Adobe. I know there are newer version of that. Maybe I'll look at GIMP.
