Introduction and latest work
 

Hey Guys,
Don't recall intoducing myself here. I am Nick, I'm 13 years old and have been building for about 4 months. This is my latest work. I use an Airpro ps900 and a master airbrush.
This is some of my latest work. All of it was airbrushed. Just messing around with some new shapes and sizes. My dad gets pissed that I won't make him big needles and huge pencils, so I busted his kahones with this 9.3 inch 4.2oz Pencil Popper. It wont have a back hook, Just a deceiver.

This is one of my slopeheads. has 2 shades of blue and green in it that aren;t visable by pics. IMO, my nicest plug made yet. No hardware on it in his pic, but it is now.

Heres a smaller needle I did out of exotic wood. Its almost 2 oz without weight an floats. 4.3 in long. Herring patterned.

That scaled swimmer is a real beauty.

Since you're just learning are you open to some suggestions ?

In a couple of the pictures the belly grommets are noticably extended out past the plug. You want them to sit flush.

Sometimes I countersink mine, I use a forstner but that fits the outside diameter of the grommet and go only like 1/16" deep. Then Switch bits to one that fits the inside diameter of grommet and drill the down past the belly wire. This gives you a nice look where the grommet is flush with the plug.

Another way to do something similar is to just round over the edge of the grommet. To do this I drill a hole in a hardwood thats similar to the size of the plug I'm making and just lightly hammer the edges of the grommet so its contoured and will fit the curve of the belly of the plug.

Keep up the good work. I wish I'd gotten into this when I was your age...

Great advise there! ALl those ones they are sitting out on are because I used to big of a drill bit for the size of the grommet, never happened before. i epoxied them into place though. I'm gonna try that with the forstner bit though, Thanks!
