ProfessorM 01-10-2009 08:46 PM

Looks like fun was had by all. I am sure there wasn't many dull moments. Thanks for the pics.

tynan19 01-10-2009 08:54 PM

I will try an upload some of my pics when I get out of work or in the morning. We had a great time and I am sure that the 2nd Annual Tourny will have double the fishermen. Kev, I got a great shot of my son with a cracker on his lap and crumbs on his chin passed out in the car. Still surprised it wasn't dad.

Clammer 01-10-2009 10:10 PM

it was fun

it was a grand time....

after the sun vanished though it was a bit nippity....(nipple):jester:

even dressed to the hilt ....

Not to windy...but i dreamed of heated chairs that are taller and made sturdier for the ice... :uhuh:

it was fun watching the guys sprinting to raised flags.

I had a great time shootin the breeze with Bass babe and RoB rockcrawler , vineyard blues, TDF and JOHNR.

JohnR has become the Hole maker expert of the month :tooth:

Bassbabe was running across the ice constantly with a fish
most of the day...and must still be sleeping LOL

a special thanks to TDF for lending me some anti skid
stretchable cleats... being the ice fishing novice that i am.

my home made ice strainer on a pole worked excellent
and my ice chisel cut a whole about as fast as an auger.

Soon, i'll be jiggin for trout at my honey hole.

JohnR 01-11-2009 08:50 AM

Awesome time, mixed with the Pure Adrenaline of chasing Monster Sunfish, playing "Spin the Mystery Bottle", and who can take a header running to a distant tipup while under the influence of Dr Mcgillicuddy, all with the Western Mass intrigue and danger that only a BombaBros production can generate :lama:.

Seriously, this was a lot of fun all around. And the fishing was far more fun than when I last did it so many years ago.

Big props to TDF as well for sharing the gear and medicine. As usual Kevin, lots of fun fishing with you.

I'll post up some pictures when I find my USB cable :alien:

Slipknot 01-11-2009 08:58 AM

I wish I could have made it there with Danny, sounds like a good time, but work comes first. If I had the choice I would have gone there instead of spraying lacquer all weekend.

When is the next one? maybe I'll buy some tipups, or I would go just to see Mikey

TheSpecialist 01-11-2009 10:05 AM

Ditto what Slip said. I watched OTW from friday, they were ice fishing in Maine, and there were some nice lake trout caught, and Royl caught a nice fish as well. That show really got me primed to try it this year.

Raven 01-11-2009 10:26 AM

something that cuts the wind is essential...

this is what would be cool...

an ice pod vehicle and surveillance battery powered fish....

tynan19 01-11-2009 03:39 PM

Ayyyayyyya,
Finally made it home from the tourney (after dropping Matty the weighmeister off in Nashua on the way back).
Big thanks to everybody who made it out! Food and peeps were great.
It was coooooooold.
For everybody who thought you missed a good time, you did. Make sure you are there next year. This will definately be something that gets BIGGER.
OK gotta fly, just wanted to say thanks to everybody who made it out and had lots of fun being misfits on the ice.
I can't believe I didn't win anything!
Later,
Rick
PS - I have a feeling I might be cooking up a little "FABBIT 1.1" for a location in Plymouth, if anybody's interested.:faga:

ProfessorM 01-11-2009 08:42 PM

Did Peter bring any of his vintage tip ups?

tynan19 01-11-2009 09:34 PM

Paul, Peter did have some vintage tip ups. They almost didn't cover the 10 inch hole.

Rick, I would be up for the 1.1 depending on day?

InTheHole 01-12-2009 10:13 AM

Thanks to Rick and Mike, we had a great time. David was psyched to win a prize for his fish, I thought I even heard a congratulations from one of his jealous younger brothers ( trust me it doesn't happen often)!
The day was perfect, could have used a few more fish, but what the hell... when you can put your skates on at 7:30 in the morning and not take them off until 3:00, drink beer, grill and fish all in January in New England, I don't know how it can get any better!!
It was good to put some faces to names JohnR, TDF, Bombas, Tynan and everyone else - Nice to meet ya.
Again many thanks to the Bomba brothers, I'm already looking forward to next year.

FishermanTim 01-12-2009 11:27 AM

How much ice did you end up with there?
I was up in the lakes region (NH) and most places there had well over a foot of ice.
i did manage to get out with my brother on a couple of ponds and got a few fish to boot.
Saturday up in Meredith, NH was colder than a witch's... you know what in mean.
This next 10 days will definitely set up some serious ice for any areas that were lacking over the past week.

InTheHole 01-12-2009 11:36 AM

It looked like a good 6"+, plenty thick enough and it didn't take forever to get through it with the chisel and hand auger.

Rockport24 01-12-2009 01:46 PM

Looks like a great time! I was busy skiing on what looked to be about the same surface you guys were fishing on :wall: oh well, I'm gonna try to be there next time.

tynan19 01-12-2009 04:44 PM

Ice was just on the safe side. I put it at 4-5 at the most. In the Hole, wish we could have skated with ya. Maybe we can set up a little game somewhere in the middle and get some other S-Brs to play.
