ask any mexican
Jalapeno's being their favorite mild pepper (not) you chew them on the side of your mouth and you don't let them touch your tongue.
hot peppers are like cutting fire wood ...the old saying cut it once and it warms you twice... well, what goes in hot comes out HOT milk won't quench the fire.... maybe a half gallon of sherbert until you have a brain freeze...:( it's bread that cleans the pallet and scrapes the hot off your throat. |
I like a little ground red pepper in my cocoa for those days on the ice.
I also like ground chili pepper on my eggs for the added "smokiness". Cabots makes a nice hot habenero cheese. Oh, that pungent aroma and the building heat warms you all over. Heck I even put hot sauce in chicken soup, and added pepper in my chowder, but not too much since I don't want to overpower the original taste. |
A little heat, especially to acidic foods can really brighten them up without adding much of any real spice.
