Maine

Anybody here from Maine, Portland area? This past year I started visiting Maine every other weekend....last summer I went fishing several times, got skunked. I think I caught about three all summer - sucked. It seems like most of the places you hear about are like an hour drive from the portland area north or south.. I got to find something. :nailem:

The Rye Beach area in New Hampshire. Just go there at low tide during the day and check it out. Great place to fish stripers. Fish after dark and you will have the place to yourself.

My friend Steve/ Offshore24 on here lives just North of Portland and they had a pretty slow year. Do you have access to a kayak? If so Casco Bay is full of rocky islands, reefs and flats. Just got to get to them.

I fish Maine 2 weeks every summer. Mostly around Ogunquit, Piscataquaw river, Eliot, Wells. Fly fishing, plugs and chunk. Beach , Rocks and tidal rivers (my favorite). Catch many, but not many large. Not like the guys here. Love catching a 25 inch on the fly. A big one off the beach or rocks is mid 30 inches for me.....maybe mid teens in lbs.
