Marlboro Gun Show

Just a heads up to the gun lovers out there, the Marlboro gun show is Saturday Jan. 31 and Sunday Feb.1 It is the best gun show that I know of around here. May be last chance to pick up certain firearms with the new Prez.

Anybody ever go to this show? Want to get started with reloading and need stuff.

Mr. Krinkle 01-27-2009 01:27 PM

Somebody pick me up some ammo! $hit is getting expensive!

TheSpecialist 01-28-2009 06:49 PM

I've been to it , good show wanted to go but no time. there are some others in the next couple of months.

As far as reloading, go Dillon Precision all the way best stuff out there.

I have a model RL550 it is sweet.

My friend in Maine says he never has sold so many guns since he has been in business, ever. Everyone is worried about Obama. This guy only does the largest of shows. He reps for a dozen companies and has 23 people working for him east of the Mississippi and they are all out straight. Buy them while you can.

i'm looking to buy a smith + wesson 357 revolver with a 6 inch barrel. any way to find out what the shows will have so you don't have to waste a trip. i'm coming from billerica.

Just go. It is like going to Wally World but it is all gun dealers. You can really shop and bargain prices back and forth between dealers. Play them off each other. Bring CASH. Money Talks, bs walks. You will have no problem with a S&W .357. Either a model 19 (blue steel) or 66 (stainless) or one of the newer 3 digit model numbers will suffice. As far as prices go, not sure what they will look like but my dad said they had gone up noticeably at the Standish Show. The problem is every gun you look at just screams "Take me home, take me home" Good deals on bulk ammo too.

For a .357 get a S&W 686

The show was packed. Ammo wasn't cheap unless you got lucky or were reloading.

I got a great deal on a Ruger MKIII 22/45 model target pistol. 295 new, saved about 100 bucks.
My dad got a Puma lever action rifle for cowboy action.

The guy from Maine with those high end shotguns was cool to see his guns, they were expensive.:eek5: one was 20 g's

You'll like the ruger. Lot of fun to shoot and easy on the wallet. I've got an older ruger MK II with the bull barrel. It has a red dot on it which is kind of cool. They can be had for around 40 bux.

Slipknot 02-02-2009 06:58 PM

On the red dot
my dad tells me to spend some dough on a more expensive one

I looked at cabelas and it is confusing and they can be real expensive
I was thinking 50 bucks would get me a decent one, that's what my brother told me, but my dad seems to think I need to get one over 100
I'll wait a little while on that I guess. I have shot theirs with them and I like using it.

Mac, ya that's about the same gun. I got the one with the grip like the 1911 45, it seems to fit my giant hand better. I'm sure I'll like it.
It goes well with my ruger 10/22
I still have 800 rounds from back in the days I used to get it at Kmart $1.97 for 100 CCi's

I put a cheap one on it and it is fine. As far as spending more.... It's only a 22 and recoil is minimal. I'd like to have a halo sight on it but couldn't justify the money at the time. I'll let ya borrow it if you want to try it.

If you are going to shoot competition and want to cut X rings then spend the extra money. But just for plinking red dots are fine.

Bruce you should check out the gun room at Addeville Game Farm in RI. I have seen shotguns in there for over $100,000.00
