Necessary flies
 

Sorry to interrupt all the banter between all the fly-guys here, but I was hoping for bit of advice.

I'm about to order an 8-wt. to give the long wand a shot this year. I'm a veteran flycaster as I cut my flyfishing teeth on trout in western-and central- Pennsylvanian streams.

Figured I'd try to revive a few of those skills.

My question is this:

What are a few of the basic must have flies to get me started? Maybe a half dozen or so...

I'd really appreciate the input.
