What is your favorite Creek Chub Color?

I have always been partial to White Scale.
It has probably caught more fishermen than fish, but I still like it. |
Very sharp! Nice work Adam!

Beautiful work. Real crisp and clean.

Very Nice..
I have never seen anyone who has a fetish for painting old CC patterns as much as Chumbucket..I remember seeing his stuff thinking how the heck does this guy come up with these color combinations and pattens. Then one day he showed me this big coffe table type book with all the Creek Chub patterns in it and it all came together. He is amazing and has the best flair for detail. It's amazing to me the work them women did on them plugs in factory type conditions. The paints they used back then where awesome also.So vibrant and full of color. Another company that has some awesome paint and patterns was Masterlure..There is so much old stuff it becomes hard to comprehend. When someone says it has all been done before. They are right.. |
gorgeous paint skills .. I got that CCB book .. I kind of gave up on fancy paint ,, you renew my interrest .. really nice work you did there ..favirote ccb color plain old olive ,, pattern ,, kind of like Goldfish .

UGH! I go look at what I just painted and feel sick. Very nice, indeed.
|
beautiful work. I like the fancy paint jobs. My problem is I am usually so far behind I never have time for anything other than pedestrian colors. One of these days I need to experiment more cause I really like the look you have there.

You know I figured you had that book.I can remember the Tagger Renaissance period..In fact I have a bottle darter you made in a CCBC pattern. Some krazy color like flo orange and silver scale..Does not resemble any baitfish I have ever seen, but it looks really cool..I have seen Matt do that same pattern.. I call it Funky Flo Madeena...:spin: |

I have that book too. some nice inspiration in it.
I like the dace color a lot too, redwing blackbird, purple eel, and yellow flash. regarding the factory conditions-we tend to get so caught up getting a high end airbrush and spending a lot of time perfecting the paint and layering etc. and finding just the right masking material scales etc, but those ladies did beautiful work with what appear to be rudimentary (by today's standards) airbrushes ans mesh screens-though it looks like many of their masking jigs (for gills and faces) were custom made metal masks. |
beautiful gold fish Larry!
Please, anyone post your take and inspiration on a Creek Chub color, I would love to see them! |
You still takin that book to bed with ya Tagga. :D

Yes still swapping with some huys in MN. Jeff has a few spooks that he is painting up. I have a couple decoys that I need to send to Trevor. Over the summer, Trevor painted a couple spooks one he sent back (I still need to etex it-really cool folk art pattern) and another he fished. He caught a nice 38" musky on it, then later lost it to a LARGE musky. |
