How would you approach this spot?

Okay, so I have been practicing swimming at the Y with my 40 ft aluminum ladder, in my wetsuit, so I think I can make it out to that far off rock. I still have not figured out how to A. Open the ladder B. extend the ladder and C. climb the ladder as the water is 20+ ft deep there and the "atoll" i want to fish off is 35ft off the water . I really don't want to skish.

How would you fish this spot if you came across it?

There is an award for whoever can guess this spot.

RIROCKHOUND 02-18-2009 09:39 PM

Big Sur, CA?
Good luck with that. Maybe pole vault out instead

Circlehook 02-18-2009 09:45 PM

Nope. Not Big Sur.

Bronko 02-18-2009 09:47 PM

Cabo/Baja area?

The Dad Fisherman 02-18-2009 09:52 PM

Stand on the sand and cast

Dad 818 02-18-2009 10:19 PM

Being the klutzy ba$tard that I am, there is no doubt I would approach it by tumbling down that slope in the background.

Proposal Rock....Oregon.

fishbones 02-18-2009 11:08 PM

I'd fish that spot from a boat or yak.

redcrbbr 02-19-2009 02:58 AM

sometimes you have to ask yourself is it really worth taking a chance of getting hurt or worse yet dying.
great ideas need landing gear as well as wings to fly.

JohnR 02-19-2009 07:42 AM

Feed Redlite 4 Red Bulls, hand him a rope, and tell him his chew is on top of the rock...

Raven 02-19-2009 07:59 AM

Halvey64 02-19-2009 08:10 AM

Me. I read an article about a couple who were walking the beach in Oregon. He took his girlfriend to Proposal Rock and they stood on the rock. As he was on his knee, a wave came and swept her off the rock. He survived. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

mrstriper 02-19-2009 06:24 PM

looks like part of the Barbados coast...fish it with large pencils...

Close enough. It is from Trinidad CA, couple hundred miles north of Big Sur. Wish it was on east coast.

RIRockhound PM me your address and I'll send you out an Afterhours Polaris Popper.
