Painting plugs
 

Went to plugfest today was very impressed with the paint jobs of some of the plugs especially the mackeral. Being the inquisitive person that I am I asked how it was done. Some did it with just an air brush others said they did it with stencils. Question where do you get the stenceling material and is there such a thing as a stencil cutter? Went to michalels crafts and found "frisket Paper" by the createx paints, is this the same as stencil material? I also saw a stencil cutter that worked like a sodering gun with heat to cut the stencil is this a stencil cutter? thanks for reading my criptic questions any help would be appreciated. thanks Charlie

I use a piece of cardboard with slits cut in it

You can use tinfoil and cut out a stencil, you can also get friskey from one of the hobby stores.

I like to just paint them on with a brush

I use heavy clear flexible plastic. Like the heavy stuff they sell for drop-cloths or vapor barriers at the Hardware Centers. Draw your pattern with sharpie or pen and cut with x-acto or scissors. You can pull it around the plug pretty good.

If you have a woodburning tool witht he replaceeable heads, you can probab;y find a ehad that looks like an xacto knife blade. The blade heats up and makes cuttling your (plastic) stencil material like a hot knife through butter
