Advice needed
 

Fished out of Wickford for the last 3 seasons (at Brewers), but I moved to Roslindale (Boston) at the end of August. Plans for the upcoming season are up in the air (we have a 21' Sea Hunt). I've been pondering the options--head to the north shore of Mass (my family has ties to Gloucester), Try to find something more local i.e. the harbor somewhere?? Quincy area?? Or go back to RI (and the 60+ mile one way ride).
I'm looking for advice/suggestions with specific marinas to look into. What would you do? Trailering isn't really an option. I'm somewhat familiar with the waters around Gloucester, but wouldn't have a clue about anywhere else in MA.

Of course the other option is to not put the boat in at all, which may be a reality...but I'm not thinking about that right now.

What are your thoughts?

JK, the fishing in Boston harbor/quincy/weymouth and other areas has been fantasitic. If you want a crash course, I can hook you up with some folks that are orientated to teaching while catching.

THere are a few places to launch if thats your thing. Marinas are pricey !!

You may wan't to look at Pope's Island in New bedford. half the ride and great fishing!

J -I fished out of Quincy once. Boston harbor area is huge and very similar to Narr. Bay. Rocky islands, shelter etc, bait, etc. I think that is a close option where you could have sheltered access to fish.

Many of our charters are in Boston, the fishing is excellent. I would look into Back River in Weymouth.

Fishing on the north shore is great. Advantage to being in Gloucester is you can be on the bank in 30 minute

I second that. I launch out of weymouth. Nice ramp there. Plenty of fishy spots in the Boston Harbor area.

Really? That's no good because the reason I've moved from RI is because there weren't any fish in the bay... :wall:

do you trailer the boat, or would you prefer a slip or mooring?

I like to go outside of the harbor (boston) and get live bait and live line it
