I know some guys who have done that here in VT with deer by systematically shooting only runty deer in an area. They now have better looking deer, higher body weight and bigger horns

I'm not sure shooting guys who keep large fish would be legal.......even if it would help the fishery.

I think some plug fisherman are advocating it, but they are just jealous.
