help to boost internet speed.

so i did the macafee test your internet speed thing online yesterday. mine is at 60.

do you know if comcast has internet upgrades to make speed faster. someone told me the network that i'm connected to may have too many users in the area that clog it up.

also could be a wireless router issue. i got the netgear rangemax wireless- N and some people said that router was junk.

any advice?

Did you clear cache and cookies? Should be done regularly, as that affects spee as well.

also you want to defrag your hard drive so that file retrieval is easier (ie Faster)

My immediate thought is your wireless connection. Whenever you're connected to wireless, your transfer speed will be less than a wired connection - even when signal strength is 100%. Loss is not linear either, so 80% signal strength does not mean you're at 80% your connection speed - you'll be quite a bit below.

Tell your neighbors to stop streaming porn over your wireless connection.

Haha... I thought about going there. That's my go to suspicion about my roommate when my speeds are down at night.
