"Hendrix Hidden Gems"
We all know the more mainstream Hendrix songs that get alot of air play.....Stone Free, Voodoo Chile, Foxy Lady, Fire etc........how about naming one of those "B" side gems you love or one that may be off a "later" album released after the masters death???
I have one that comes from the "Radio One" album, which by the way is a "Gem" in itself! There is one song on this album that I just love....its an instrumental, which from Hendrix is always killer, but its an old Curtis Knight song called "Drivin' South"!!! Any of you guys ever hear it??? If not....give it a listen and let me know what you think! You guys recommend any of your favorite "Hendrix Hidden Gems"???:grins: |
Great tune. Killing floor is good too.

you should pick up the BBC sessions, 2 disc set, amazing live stuff in the radio studio. Tons of gems and covers.
Drivin South is on that too, not sure if its the same version, but it is awesome I like Axis Bold as Love - Up from the Skies is amazing, Bold as Love too. |
Killing Floor is a great song....also a fav off that album!
Don't own the BBC yet.....that will be purchased in short order!:btu: |
I also love Hendrix' version of "Sunshine of Your Love" on the "Winterland" disc!

His version of Mannish Boy is pissa.
And it's just not Christmas (much to the dismay of my wife) without Jimi's little drummer boy/silent night . |
