Raven...i found a couple of fox dens in the yard

never experienced them in the yard before...

I know they are in breeding season right now..usually ending in april

are they more good then harm? Lots of chipmukns in and around the ledge....and that is where the dens are as well

i have no small pets but do have a 4 year old and 10 month old son

I guess just trying to take precautionary measures here....if anything even needs to be done

thanks

Jim

this is what you do

you put a red light bulb
out on the back of the house
nearest their den to illuminate the area http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...ob1/eyes-1.gif

it won't bother them in the least
but you'll be able to see them
from a window somewhere

then start feeding them old bread
where ever you can find it...
they adore bread

animals are dangerous when hungry
and docile when well fed
in my experience

we enjoyed their visits
and they have a ten-20 mile range
so they'll have multiple dens...

now if you ever see one with a foaming
mouth and snarling right at you
( would usually never happen)
that's a whole different story
and kill it instantly...

freeze the skull to
send it in to be tested

Nope We had one living right off campus two years ago. My only worry would be if it picked up Rabies but that is a very long shot. like Raven said put up the red light and enjoy. ThomT

i'll never forget

watching a fox one day

leap over the bank

onto an unsuspecting squirrel

rummaging thru the leaves

the tail sticking straight out

a loud squeak and then silence
