Think about all the people that work in these petstores getting laid off because some senator got a sick goldfish. Think about ponds/lakes that are stocked... guess what.. invasive species... bye,bye...

hybrid stipers gone...

People's pets... I can't even begin to list Cats, Dogs, Reptiles, Birds, ect...

Animals in Zoo's are subject to this law too...

And its a bad thing to block out invasive species why?

Wrong, they're native and exist for an economic reason.

Considering the pathetic level of care most herps and snakes get, good. Little Johnny didn't need that Burmese Python that'll end up getting too big anyhow.

Name a single cat that is imported on a consistent basis? Howabout a dog that would be listed as an "invasive species"?

This proves you did NOT read it.

I completely agree. People should need a license to keep iguanas, some monitors and snakes and definately some species of tortise.

I've kept a lot of reptiles in my life and even for an adult it requires a lot of effort to provide good captive husbandry.

But, that little Nile Monitor is so cut and only 12" long :eek5:
