Plymouth Run

saw someone flyfishing in the plymouth run yesterday, he prceeded to catch 2 of whatever he was catching(looked like trout from a distance but didn't walk over to see what they were), my question is, do you need a freshwater license to fish there? I know the laws are weird about the salt/fresh border

are you talking about brewster gardens?

right at water st where it dumps into the bay, on the park side, not the bay sideg

Most likely brook trout.

the run in plymouth is town brook and it is stocked by the state. if the body of water is tidally influenced then you do not need a freshwater licence. that is how i understand it.

I may be mistaken but I think the fresh water license kicks in at the first dam on major rivers. Brooks and streams that are fresh water entering salt require a license right up to the salt.:humpty:
