best way for 3d eye holes?

i have just started putting those 3d plastic doll eyes that you can get at hobby stores on my lures. what would be the best way to make the "eye sockets" for the eyes. ive tried some regular bradpoint drill bits, they tend to chip and do a messy job. even if you go really slow you are almost always bound to get little chips in the wood around the hole. my dad says that i should try using a fosner bit. (spelling?)
what do you guys use?

Yes Forstners bit is the way to go. Go down the pkwy to Home Depot and get a set. I think they are on sale.

:D As Christian's dad I would like to thank l.i. fish. in.vt for his vote of confidence.

I know its boasting but he is the best son a dad could ask for and a spectacular fisherman and lure maker.
