Nice, I caught more big fish on small needles last year than ever before.

I agree, I prefer my needles kind of heavy, I want them to be slow sinkers. Usually upon retrieve it works its way to the surface anyway. This way you can cover the water column better..ie, start out a little deep at the beginning of the cast and as it shallows up work it a little higher.

now you tell us ... I felt like I was force feeding them ..

This is the cutter, very high tech. A little fabric paint in the center. When I want to get really fancy I use some glitter fabric paint in the outer ring.
Hav'nt had one fall out yet.

Looks like a poor mans forstner bit.
