JohnR 04-28-2009 04:33 AM

TheSpecialist 04-28-2009 06:15 AM

Hmm...not sure if this was the same outing or not but if it was I think I remember standing on the bridge watching the chaos unfold....hooks flying left & right....no way was I going in the trenches with all that going on ! HAHA

DRUMCORPFAN 04-28-2009 11:47 AM

Good Times, Forgot about that pic Mike I'm in the front row.

Clammer 04-28-2009 12:00 PM

There were more people there / but either were getting laid in the trucks or pissin in the wind ..so they are among the missing in the photo ;

yeah remember the cluster f $^&* when the canal was full of blues & all the yahoo,s were fishing // crossed lines / @ least two people took hooks to the body .
JohnR ...fishing in the middle of it >with no hooks ;;

the DEM officer calling headquarters ,because she didn,t know the regs on bluefish ::::::rotflmao:

Saltheart 04-28-2009 02:13 PM

The biggest difference was the percentage of participation and how well everyone knew eachother. At that time we had many fewer members but those we had got to know eachother very well and I would say maybe 75% of the regular posters showed up.

I also think that we planned them better then. We planned well ahead , like many weeks or even a few months and we planned for peak fishing weekends with that being the principal thing as to when we had them.

Now , as good neighbors (and I guess we should to some extent) we have to plan around everyone else derbys , meetings banquets , etc.

Yes I see Smokey and I think his brother Dave l is there too.

I think the Patrick and Mindy gathering was in the fall , maybe the following year. Not sure. its a long time ago already. To be honest with you I thought Patrick had balls to show up and I think he behaved well at the gathering. I thought Mindy was a nice girl. She helped out with getting the food ready and out and with clean up. The funniest thing was how a few of us had agreed to make sure nobody got into it Physically with Patrick. I remember we were convinced someone was going to try to kick his butt but as it went , everyone , including the two of them , were much nicer than expected.

Great picture Clammer.

Clammer 04-28-2009 03:50 PM

Mike ;;

Giving kido,s
to Patrick ... I remember watching him casting in the surf under the lights at the motel ....with a big ass heave on & no fish ... but he stood there ;;;

nightfighter 04-28-2009 04:16 PM

Patrick, as in "Let's go for giant bluefins from shore" Patrick???? Boy, does that jog the memory.......

Clammer 04-28-2009 08:32 PM

YEP ><><<:gh:

redlite 04-28-2009 09:53 PM

was there, but too shy at the time to pose for the pic. Remember the chaos of one person coming up with both hands stuck to the trebles of a plug. Met Krispy, TLapinski, and Strider who have become close friends in life outside fishing. This site has brought me close to people that I otherwise would never know. Thank you SB

Clammer 04-28-2009 10:06 PM

REDLITE ;;

how close?/ do tell :huh:

redcrbbr 04-29-2009 11:52 AM

that was a good day and good times. I'll have to look around and see if I can find a group pic from an earlier time at M&D's

Clammer 04-29-2009 12:04 PM

Jenn, It had to be the fall, froze my arse off trying to sleep in the truck, woke and the windows were frosted. Might have been the MDA tourney weekend when I threw a fit on the beach after breaking off.

Still to this day the best cup of coffee

I have been a member for 8 years and I have only been surfcasting 3 times. I have enjoyed many posts and threads. I have fished with Clammer and Steve from MASS who seems to be gone. When I first joined the site I thought that Clammer was some foreigner because of his unique posting style lol. I remember there was some kid back in the day that would post ridiculous threads and comments and I think he was thrown out. Also I remember Mr. Macy the ex con with a heart of gold, he started a limo company I wish him well. Other names come to mind Goose, Iron Mike, Tatoo, BlueCrabber, the asian kid that is deaf Notoro, Remember his first picture post it was a 15 inch striper he was filleting in the sink everybody went ape%$%$%$%$ on him. He turned out to be a nice kid.lol... Anyways now we have some real characters. BigFish, Bomba Brothers, Spence to name a few. And over us all we have JohnR as the big guy and Saltheart as the soul of the site. Not a bad place to waste a few minutes a day. Have a great season everyone and tight lines.

justplugit 05-03-2009 06:50 PM

I remember the first Plugfest held in Middleboro. The first guy that came over
to me, with hand extended and a BIG SMILE on his face was the Clam Man. :btu:
