mac mini

what do you guys think of the mac mini for people who want to convert to mac but already have a wireless keboard/ mouse and large flat screen monitor. seems like a no brainer at a little over $400.

already had a macbook and picked up a mac mini for a desktop. like you i already had a large monitor, keyboard and mouse. its been great...does everything i want it to do (internet, word processing, photoshop, video editing, etc.) really can't go wrong for the price.

The Mini will do everything you need it do.

I find it crazy when people spend the money for a macbook pro or G5 for the most basic needs. I work on both a G5 and macbook pro 10 hours a day with over with tons of video/design files and it never has a problem. Sometimes I feel like if it weren't for the video stuff I could get away with a Imac just fine.

If ya need more space just pic up a external HD is you don't already have one.

Scott,
Let me know if you get one and how it works out. La'Tasha has been saying she wants a new computer. I would love to surprise her with one of those. I think it would completely meet her need.

Where are you seeing them at a little over $400. Just popped on the Mac site and they are starting at 599

Thinking about turning my Dell Mini 9 into a Hackintosh :D

why do they make PC's

so i got the 2 Gig mac mini a few days ago. i don't know why i even bought PC's for all this time. everything is plug and play. no cd's to install drivers/ software. every thing i had was compatable.

mac mini is a no brainer for the basic guy who wants to surf the net, do some work with photo's, and word processing/ presentation stuff.

i'm going to burn my PC now.
