Help freddy42.exe infected computer
Any help?
I went onto Facebook this morning and ended up with trojan called freddy42.exe. I think that is the name. Is there a way to get rid of this? I installed the free verson of AVG and ran it but it did not remove it. I have also fold a fold that was labeld "prefect" or something similar and removed it. It had file names that come up when I ran the AVG. They were st_124... files. I deleted all of these too. I am running AVG again. The porblem it causes is it hijacks your browser. :hang::whackin: Thanks for any help!...... |
If you don't have it, download Spybot Search and Destroy, it should remove it. My son had it on his pc and it fixed him right up.
Link to their download site is http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html |
do it manually
hit start- search
enter this *.exe ............. that's asterisk dot exe now every exe file on your PC is listed now go down the list and look for the one that's dated or created on may 15 2009 also you can simply do a search for all files created on march 15th then delete the all the ones created close to the time you were there until the browser hijacking is gone. |
Eric - First 2 are free to scan and clean, last free to scan, buy to clean
1) download and run http://malwarebytes.org/ in quick scan and full scan 2) download and run: http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/ - quick then full scan 3) download and run Prevx CSI: http://www.prevx.com/freescan.asp and see if you are clean. If there is still something after theses are all done, buy the Prevx to scan for $30 4) I clean it and for "fee" we take Cam & Liam fishing :hihi: |
