Shad chunks

So, I went to the land of the pilgrims yestreday to look at the muscle cars and take my little grandson for a ride, saw some shad caught off the little bridge, said they were to be used as bait. I never used them, always macks, pogies and scup. said he was going to MV today.
ever use them ? any luck ?

Saw a super '67 Camero, real nice.

People use them out in western MA all the time during the Spring. I'm not a chunker, but I've seen some hogs pulled in with them.

Same thing with CT, Shad's a good bait

I'm sure the chunks will work well. Live lining an 18" shad can produce interesting results. Sliced diagonally, shad are irresistible as fluke bait, too.

i've taken bass to 25 lbs livelining shad within sight of where you saw them being caught...
