Great Air show at Quonsett
They had the pride of the fleet at the Air show today. The F-22 was awesome. It can me flown supersonic or like a helicopter. Amazing technology. If you're a MIG pilot , this thing spells death in any language.
Also had F14 , F15 , F16 , F-18's , B1 ,bunch of transports and Cargo planes , helicopters , many stunt planes. Saw the canadian precision team but when I left about 3 PM it looked like the Blue Angels were a no go do to low cloud ceiling. I'm seen quite a few from the base and from my boat anchored off shore but this was the most impressive. |
Oh man SH ,that had to be a great time. :D We used to catch the
shows at Otis and Westover. Glad you got to see the F-22, unbelievable air craft. :) May not be many around as Barney Frank wants to stop production to help fund Health-care. House and Senate has a different idea and just passed a bill to keep them coming, but Obama may veto it. :smash: Nah, we don't need anymore of the best fighter jet in the world in these times. |
nope
no North Korean missiles to intercept around here

we saw them coming into Quonsett while we were fishing around Pt. Jude on Saturday. Very cool!

Had a blast with my oldest son. Was a little loud for him though once the main show started. Will definitely be back next year.

Missed the best picture op when the F-22 went verticle on takeoff. Would have been a perfect shot because he's nearly still long enough to get a no blurr picture with the engines firing and the condensattion from the wing leading edges. I have seen a picture in that position before but thought he would do it as part of one of the passes along the runway. Next time I'll know he does this on takeoff.
