Fast Water Pickup

Plumbing my livewell on my cc,and using 3/4" pvc for the fast water pickup. Question is 90 degree elbow at the bottom in the water or 45 ? Also do I need a screen on the end of it?

I used a 90 for my pickup. I don't use a screen. Without a screen it feeds my livewell fine with about a 30 gallon level.

My pickup feeds thru my pump. My pump is on a bracket on exterior of transom and can be disconnected from base for cleaning easily enough. I'm in a 16 footer so rough water isn't an issue for me.

Bill...BASIC PATRICK ON WENDY'S PUTER...Back when i owned Basic Boat (Mako 19) we had a 1 1/2" 90 TIGHT around the transom/bottom. We needed two 2" drain hoses to keep up and ot spill over a 30 gallon livewell at speed. Don;t forget the ball valve above the elbow somewhere!!!!!!

Thanks Patrick, ran all 3/4" in, with a 1" drain, and ball valves on the pump, and the pickup to control flow.
