My all-time favorite non-slide acoustic blues player.

Sounds like a lot of caveats... but he's way, way up there in my pantheon. There's not one weak track on Avalon Blues.

He does not fall into that traditional blues player style however I find him the most enjoyable of the older guys to listen to. I especially like My Creole Bell. The other amazing thing about him was that even though he was out of the spotlight for 30 years or so when he came back he had not lost that much over time.
