Some years back I stumbled upon an even more intense blitz than that on Cleveland's Ledge of all places. It was blowing SW about 15+ KTs and you could still see the mass of white water about a mile away. Got up next to them and they were on each others backs, 1/2 out of the water. The guy with me hooked up instantly. I made a show of taking my time getting a flyrod out and ready.....sure of success....and they disappeared before I could make a cast. :smash: Cool fish.

GEORGE it's been years since I caught one. I used to get into them with Joe Leclair on the flyrod all down the falmouth beaches. I haven't seen any around in years. Even that last summer where we had the Port man o Wars and the water was warm. No skippies I ever found. Funny too because eastern Bbay was filled with spanish macs. Never saw skippies.

Mark told me that they make sashimi out of that skippy. They're a freakin blast on the flyrod.

I don't have a clue what makes them come inshore but I hope they do it again soon. They are the ultimate light tackle fish.

They embarrass an albie and even and equivalent sized baby bft isn't as strong.
