here is what happens when you try to cut the corner of the channel when the tide is too low

It's to bad they don't give IQ tests before they sell people there boat

The family and I passed him in that spot three times today. First time there didn't appear to be anyone aboard. All in the cabin? On the way back out they were conversing with the harbor master. When we returned they were all sitting on the high side. :buds:

The pic is pretty lousy quality.
Looks like a commercial or large sport fishing boat ???
Plymouth harbor can be pretty tricky if you don't know it.

These are a little better. I thought they had run it on the bar to do some bottom work. Nope! Ok, maybe it lost it's mooring?
Freebie, which boat were you in? I was out with my wife, daughter and the lab.

That's a pretty big tub! I see that quite a bit out there. Last year a saw a big tuna rig try and cut the Cowyard and they were beached most of the day. My guess is that they are not from the area. Read the charts!

Poco a Poco

I don't mean to make fun of someone else's misery, and nearly all of us who have spent significant hours in a boat have made some bonehead move or another, but I can't resist.....

I see from the photos that this boat's name is "Poco a Poco", which in Spanish means "little by little". I can only imagine those folks on the boat watching the tide rise while chanting "poco a poco...poco a poco...poco a poco...poco a poco...". Never has a boat been so aptly named.

I was out testing a couple boats, one was a 20 Mako cc name 4 c's, the other was a 20 grady walkaround, not sure of the name or if it had one, what were you in? the pic I took was on my phone that's why the quality is terrible, not to mention the boss was driving and we were going 20kts, he was definitely stuck there for a while, we first saw him when the tide was dropping, probably 3-4 hours after high and don't know how long he was stuck before we saw him

i always go the long way around. can you do the short cut at hig to mid tide and get under the bridge with a t-top?

Sgt_Nutz 07-29-2009 08:25 PM

I was in a 20' Aquasport CC. I think I saw you in the Mako. We came in late morning so the girls could use the bathrooms by the Mayflower and went back out until early afternoon. He was still grounded and leaning over all 3 times we went by.
