For All You Guys Who Wanted Summer...

Well, you got it...:smash:

I was just out in the yard for about an hour doing some digging in the sun

Geeeezuzzz - even the balls of my feet are sweating...:hs:

C'mon September...:soon:

Plum Crazy 08-01-2009 01:33 PM

My sentiments exactly!

Raven 08-01-2009 01:40 PM

pray for rain-lol

The nice thing about this weather is not needing a winter hat when heading out for some night fishing.

T-shirt, light rain jacket and you're good to go. This time of year, we're only out 'fishing' for exercise anyway.

OMG, in Newport? It's been like winter there.

Thumper 08-01-2009 04:23 PM

weather was great, tons of ladies on the beach in some skimpy bikinis  :cheers2:

numbskull 08-01-2009 06:45 PM

Digging holes? That's what wives are for. I go down cellar. It's cool and there is a lot of fishing stuff down there.

Top notch "bird" watching weather though Crafty. :uhuh:

Especially with the Folk Fest Thames was like the Atlantic Flyway...

Mr. Sandman 08-02-2009 04:26 AM

:uhuh:Ditto on the bikinis... Man I can't believe what I am seeing:shocked:, exceptional, truly exceptional.:devil2:

Your right though, I prefer the 70 deg days, and 50 deg nights any day. Sept is gonna be great. I have a feeling we are going to see outstanding fishing this Sept with these delayed water temps reaching highs in mid September and lots of sand eels around. I hope we see the king and Spanish mac's inshore again...maybe some yellow-fins within 5 miles of the shore like a few years back, now that would be sweet.

Yes, I know...devoted birder that I am...

Spotted the first flock of red-breasted warblers at roughly 10 AM...and they increased in numbers throughout the morning

It was so hot that I thought it was wise to take frequent breaks and sit on the porch to cool off - took a break at 10 AM...then another at 10:30 or so...then 10:55....11:15, maybe another at 11:27 or thereabouts...:hihi:

BEEEYOOOOTIFUL plummage, squire...:heybaby:

However, the best gig had to be the Coastie I know who got assigned to CG Station Castle Hill for the Festival - he spent the day yesterday doing safety boardings and checking out the ....uhhhh...deck hardware....:)

"Pardon me, ma'am - I don't know if those are approved flotation devices" - :laughs:

MarshCappa 08-03-2009 09:18 AM

Enjoy what we have cuz it will be cold again before we know it!

Crafty Angler 08-04-2009 12:23 AM

Another hot one today and I had the day off with plans for painting......or maybe a little more brick work in the yard...:bc:

And then the phone rings - it's Komes wanting to know if I'd like to go fluking for the day on Shack Attack

I agonized over it for at least 10 seconds before running out of the house like it was on fire...:hihi:

I've gotta tell ya, the guilt is nearly overwhelming

NOT...:devil2:

striperman36 08-04-2009 09:14 AM

Where there fluke?

I was thinking the plumage watching from the porch on Thames street would have been outstanding yesterday.
